BMW? Mercedes?
What are you, some kind of peon?
OK, look, we love those cars, too, but realistically, they don’t even scratch the surface of what’s available out there. There are supercars in this world that make the offerings from the above brands look hopelessly entry-level and pedestrian.
Let’s have some fun by detailing 5 of the Most Insanely Powerful Production Cars in the World. Note that these are all street-legal vehicles that experienced at least a limited production run, and no, this isn’t meant to be an all-encompassing list—just a taste.

Mufflers? Screw ‘em.
The Saleen S7 (production: 2005 - 2009) dispenses with mufflers altogether, so that 427-inch twin-turbo V8 engine sounds positively ferocious as a result. The 2006 model year version is capable of 1000 horses, a 0-60 time of a blistering 2.6 seconds, and a top speed of somewhere around 250 MPH. Yeah, no biggie, right?

Not every supercar on this list comes from an exotic manufacturer. New for 2017 is the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon—and boy, does this one earn its moniker.
There are staggering numbers here. The 6.2-liter V8 produces as much as 840 HP and 808 lb.-ft. of torque. In case you’re wondering, that means a car this size achieves 0-60 in only 2.3 seconds, making it currently the fastest production car in the world. Holy crap.

Tesla has ably demonstrated that all-electric cars can still be super fast, but the Rimac Concept S takes it to a whole ‘nother level. The electric drivetrain manages an incredible, nearly shock-inducing 0-62 MPH time of 2.5 seconds, while 0-124 MPH takes only 5.6 seconds. And since this demon has a top speed of 227 MPH, that 0-124 time may actually be applicable for its very few owners.
Price is upon request, but expect to pay well north of a cool million.

Designed to be more “practical” compared to the rest of Koenigsegg’s supercars, the Regera hybrid sports a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that cranks out 1479 horses, 1,465 lb.-ft. torque, and a 250 MPH top speed. Really. We typed those numbers correctly. This is not a drill.
Note that only 80 units have been made available, so this one may be tough to add to your garage.

Figures we’d put a Bugatti on this list, right? And the Chiron is just as out-of-this-world, are-you-f***ing-kidding-me ridiculous as the Regera above, offering a matching 1479 horsepower—that’s a full 300 horses more than its predecessor, the Veyron Super Sport.
Some other notable tech specs: eight liters, four turbochargers, and 16 cylinders. Yeah. Just ridiculous.
